STAY UP TO DATE AND BE ENCOURAGED

Jesus came on the scene with little or no fanfare!

"He came to Serve"

Greetings Morning Star Baptist Church Family and Friends:

Last week America saw its 46th President of the United States sworn into office.  This signifies a monumental shift in direction, politics, mindset, character, and public policy.  All America should rejoice that we have a president who understands that he was elected to represent all Americans.

But truth be told, President Joe Biden will do absolutely nothing in your life that will have eternal consequences.  Yet, people got out amid a pandemic, and they registered voters, knocked on doors, spoke to friends, family, and foes alike.  People erected billboards, put out yard signs, donated money, and gave out handbills and push cards.  It took an amazing effort to defeat the incumbent, but people did what was necessary.

Jesus, on the other hand, came on the scene with little or no fanfare. He lived a humble life. He performed great signs, wonders, and miracles. His face and name were not splashed all over television and shared on social media.  He came to serve and not to be served.  He was rejected by His countrymen and betrayed by friends. He ultimately died so that mankind could live.  He gave all access to eternal life through His shed blood.  But many still refuse the free gift of Salvation that He offers to the world.

Most know of Him but still, deny Him.  And those who accept Him usually demonstrate a lackluster zeal for the Lord.  They rejoice more over an earthly president than they do a Heavenly King.  They braved the weather and the pandemic to spread the word about their candidate, but they will barely whisper the name of Jesus or share their faith with others.

I have said all of that to say this, commit this day to share your faith with at least one person each day.  Tell them you are a member of the Morning Star Baptist Church, where lives are being changed inside and outside the Church.   Tell them of one thing that God has done for you or why you are blessed and invite them to join you by watching our service or Bible Study or Sunday School.  If you do this, God will do the rest; if you would only Trust, He’ll Make a Way.

We miss you.  We love you.  We pray for you daily.

In the Service and Admiration of the Lord Jesus,

Pastor John H. Whitfield

Bible Quotes to Renew Your Love

"By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for  the brothers. But if anyone has the world's
goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes
his heart against him, how does God's love
abide in him? Little children, let us not love in
word or talk but in deed and in truth."
 ~ 1 John 3:16-18
"But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." ~ Romans 5:8
"So we have come to know and to believe the
love that God has for us. God is love, and
whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him." ~ 1 John 4:16

Bible Verses about Being
a New Person in Christ

"I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me." ~ Galatians 2:20
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come." ~ 2 Corinthians 5:17

"Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect." ~ Romans 12:2
