Greetings Morning Star Baptist Church Family and Friends:
With all of the violence that we have seen lately, we can conclude one thing: not everyone will get a second chance at life. Therefore, all of us need to get it right and to get it right now.
The Apostle Paul, when writing to Timothy, cautioned him how to live life by speaking of his impending death.
Paul said, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
Too many people these days think they have time. Time to get right. Time to overcome their addiction. Time to decide to follow Christ. The time is running out for so many. Many of us have left the arena. We are no longer in the fight. We have departed from the race. We have failed to live a faithful life.
Let us all understand that there are no guarantees about tomorrow for any of us. Today is the day of salvation. Please do not put off eternal decisions until tomorrow because your tomorrows may never come to pass. Paul tells us in 2 Timothy 3:14 that we should “Continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them.”
Stay in the fight. If you get knocked down, get back up again. If you become winded, seek after your second wind. If you become weary, wounded, and worn, pray for strength, healing, and deliverance. Persevere and let nothing turn you around, but above all things, I pray this day that you will “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness.” In so doing, you will have all that you need.
If you know someone who has not accepted Christ Jesus, reach out to them today. Tell them you are part of the Morning Star Baptist Church Family. You want to share your faith with them and then commence to tell them how Jesus, through the power of the resurrection, has changed your life, given you victory over the challenges of life, and instilled in you a Hope that serves to encourage you each day.
We love you. We pray God’s blessings be upon you. We wish above all things that you will prosper and is always in good health.
The Resurrection is Truth,
Pastor John H. Whitfield
